Nominees - OMG's

Tasha Dowd - Leeds Conservatoire

Tasha Dowd is an Actor Musician and Playwright from Liverpool, and a recent graduate from Leeds Conservatoire.

"I can't imagine my training having taken place anywhere else except Leeds Conservatoire. From application to graduation, their doors have always been open; with their free auditions, the bursarys and financial aid you could apply for, the regular check ins, and (as mentioned already), the openess to getting it wrong. I think the support and training I received really helped me be myself in professional settings, to not over think so much, and to really have fun with the work I make for myself and get to be apart of. "

Phoebe Wilkinson - Buckinghamshire New University

Phoebe is assistant technical manager at Oxford O2 Academy, and has worked with countless production teams coming through the venue (Foals, Tom Odell, You Me at Six, Pete Doherty, DYLAN)

She is currently the only female technical manager at an AMG venue.

"I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for the support from my lecturers at BNU. They didn't just develop my understanding in audio production, but they helped me grow more confident within myself, my knowledge, and skills as an audio engineer- all invaluable tools I use every day of my working life. I can't thank them enough."

Cheyenne Walker - Point Blank Music School

6+ years in the music industry. Expert in artist management & event programming. Founder of Jozana Music Group a female-led artist management & events company.

Tara Noble - LCCM

Bass wielding pop-metal front woman Tara Noble delivers her own brand of empowerment under the mononym TASH. Her prom queen warrior aesthetic collides with singable guitar riffs and dreamy vocals to create an onstage presence that is both alluring and feverish.

Following an incredible set headlining The New Artist stage at All Points East and radio support from Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1 'Future Flavour' on hard hitting single 'Dead'. She has a live sound, and performance undoubtedly fit for larger stages, and is not one to miss as she takes over the pop-metal universe.

Chelsey Blow - University of Hertfordshire

2021 Hertfordshire University Graduate, now Jnr Campaign Marketing Manager at Chrysalis Records and studying for my MA Degree in International Marketing.

"The Music Industry Management course with a Year Abroad gave me everything I needed to know to work in the industry, and gave me invaluable opportunities for work experience and networking. The skills, knowledge and experience I gained during the course gave me the confidence and courage to go outside of my comfort zone, and explore every aspect of the music industry that excites me."

Luke Blayney - University of Liverpool

University of Liverpool graduate currently based in London. After working in music publishing for 1 1/2 years, I've recently begun a position at Dispersion PR assisting with electronic music campaigns.

"Being nominated for this award made me realise how much I've achieved over the last few years. Support from my tutor, the university and fellow students allowed my interest in music to go from a passion to the first stages of a career."

Scarlett Brownbridge - Leeds Beckett University

Scarlett is an A&R Assistant at Sentric, and a first-class music graduate with a passion for creating gender equality in the music industry.

"There was so much flexibility in our degree that encouraged each student to specialise in a way that worked best for them and has lead to so many successful graduates in my year in a wide range of areas."

George Bloomfield - Leeds Beckett

George is a composer and sound designer writing for TV, Film, Theatre and dance shows, as well as self-producing and gigging his own solo project.

"Leeds Beckett has a great selection of tutors who are active with interesting projects both in and out of university, which is always what inspires me to want to learn from someone most. Some of these tutors I am still in contact with and they continue to help me out with funding applications, general business advice or just meeting for a coffee to geek out over some immersive audio ideas."

Jacob Simmons - University of Liverpool

I'm a first year PhD student at the University of Liverpool currently researching the relationship between music industry and government policy.

"I continue to be grateful for the support and time he is so consistently quick to give. As for the OMG's, I'm (very) surprised and grateful. It is a great feeling to be recognised by people that have had such a hand in shaping your trajectory."

Florian Bel - LCCM

Florian founded JMNI, a creative agency for the music industry, working with labels, venues, artists. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer for media.

"LCCM's hands-on approach to education has been the best way for me to gain professional skills while studying and it's a privilege to still be able to grow in this creative environment."

Ruby Ewing - Leeds Conservatoire

Ruby Ewing is a recent graduate from Leeds Conservatoire. Whilst studying on the Song Writing course, she set up the ATHENA Collective - a community for female and non-binary songwriters, musicians and artists.

"I have never felt more supported, cared for, heard and understood by any other part of my education like I was by the tutors at Leeds Conservatoire. As someone who struggled with school, I finally felt like I fit in somewhere - and it was amazing to have so many passionate and inspiring tutors around me."

Oisin McAvoy - Edge Hill University

Graduate from Edge Hill with a 1st class honours in Music Production and International Creative Enterprise (Masters) . Drummer for Keyside and Professional Tutor for School of Rox and Edge Hill.

"Edge Hill have really pushed me as a drummer and allowed me to go on to things I could never of imagined. I now work as a tutor at Edge Hill, School of Rox and have been accepted into another school in Liverpool."

Liam Deakin - Birmingham City University

I'm Liam, a 25-year-old music fanatic from Birmingham. I work as lead guitarist in The Clause and as founder / promoter for What's Happening Concerts based out of Dead Wax Digbeth.

"Without the support from University and particularly from my tutor Matt Grimes, I wouldn't posses the skill set nor the confidence to seek full time employment in a challenging Industry."

Rebecca Abbott - Leeds Beckett

Rebecca Abbott is a professional violinist, environmentalist and academic whose recent research, analyses how sustainability storytelling can springboard both sustainable behaviour and creative industry development.

"I am continuously grateful to have had such dedicated support from Stuart and the department at Leeds Beckett and look forward to maintaining a longstanding relationship with the University."

Wade Williams - Point Blank Music School

Known for his technical proficiency, and commitment to delivering pristine sound, Wade Williams is an asset to any production ensuring that every auditory nuance is captured with precision & finesse.

"Point Blank Music School's tutors offered an ear when needed even after the degree and at key moments during. Alex Phountzi reached out just after a year in to see how things were going and lend an ear of support. This goes a long way."

Emily Pugh - University of Gloucestershire

Senem Pearson - University of Hertfordshire

UH Music Industry Management graduate, current UK, EU & US Copyright Law student at KCL and currently working at BMG as Manager - Copyright Data Services.

"My lecturer encouraged me to volunteer with the MPA, IAFAR and UK Music, enabling me to network. One of the MPA events led me to my first job through an introduction from my lecturer and another MPA event led me to my current role."

Hannah Delderfield - Buckinghamshire New University

I'm Hannah, an alumnus of Buckinghamshire New University. I'm now a Copyright Coordinator at Kobalt Music after finding a love of music publishing during my studies.

"It was so heart-warming to be nominated for this award and receive recognition for my hard-work during my three years at Buckinghamshire New University. I'm forever thankful that because of this I have found my niche and get to work in an industry I love."

Juliet Price-Thomas - Access Creative College

My name's JULIET I'm 20 years old! I Spent the first 10 years of my life on the south bank in SE London and the rest by the sea in Cromer. R+B mixed with spoken word and pop, I love to use my lyrics to get my message across, highlighting mental health and SA especially.

Emmanuel Alabi-Araoye - Buckinghamshire New University

My name's Emmanuel, most people call me Manny, and I'm an artist from West London currently studying music business in the pursuit of one day owning a record label and knowing the ins and outs of music so I dominate on both ends of creativity and business.
