Defence Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos meets with the new Ambassador of Egypt Omar Amer Youssef

The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos had a courtesy meeting today, Friday 11 November 2022, with the new Ambassador of Egypt Mr. Omar Amer Youssef.

At their meeting, the excellent level of bilateral relations between Greece and Egypt, and the strategic defence relations, as well as the common will to further expand and deepen them, were promoted.

As far as the security situation in the East Mediterranean is concerned, the need to respect International Law and good neighbourly relations was highlighted, along with the role of the two countries as pillars of security and stability in the broader area.
