“Pet of the Week” - Apple

Lewisville Animal Shelter "Pet of the Week" - Apple

In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.

This week's featured dog is Apple. This four-year-old came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to animal restrictions at their new apartment. She is considered a VIP (Very Important Pets) at the shelter because she has been there since May. Apple is obsessed with squeaky toys and enjoys walks and pool time. She plays well with other dogs but does require a little supervision. Apple is vaccinated, microchipped, and sterilized. She is heartworm positive, but don't let that scare you away, as the Lewisville Animal Shelter will pay for her treatment.

Anyone interested in Neil Patrick can submit an application through the "Adoptable Pets" page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on her picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. If approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for an in-person visit with Apple.

The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, noon-5 p.m.
