Administrator Samantha Power Meets with Gavi CEO Dr. Sania Nishtar

Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with Dr. Sania Nishtar, the recently appointed CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Administrator Power and Dr. Nishtar highlighted Gavi's critical contributions to global health and development, and the significance of the U.S. government's role in the Alliance. The two also discussed how Gavi accelerates countries' first line of defense against health threats through supporting routine immunization, which both prevents devastating health conditions and creates resilience against future disease outbreaks. USAID continues to support Gavi as it develops its next five-year strategy to start in 2026.
