Suspected serial arsonist arrested in Snyder

Snyder law enforcement officials last week arrested Daniel Allen Jr. Allen is suspected of starting several fires since 2019.

The State Fire Marshal's Office (SFMO) helped the Snyder Fire Department (SFD) investigate the fires. An SFMO team provided canine support, fire scene processing and examination, and help with the origin and cause determinations.

SFD said it's investigating any motives for the alleged arson fires and it's taking measures to prevent more fires.

The apprehension of the suspect is the result of collaborative law enforcement efforts.

"We commend the tireless efforts of our law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and all those involved in the investigation," said City of Snyder Fire Chief Nathan Hines.
