SPS 2021: New Partnerships and Tools for Developers to Build with Snapchat
Our partnerships with developers bring amazing content, creative tools, AR, games, and so much more to our community and yours, all around the world.
Through Snap Kit, developers are using our technology to enhance their apps with Login, Bitmoji, and the Snapchat Camera. And, with Games, Minis and the Map we're offering new ways for developers to grow their businesses on Snapchat.
It's our way to bring the world into Snapchat and Snapchat into the world.
Today, we're introducing new products and partnerships powered by some of the best parts of Snapchat:
Map Layers
The Snap Map just got way more personal-with Layers! Layers are new experiences for Snapchatters featuring local content and information, located right on top of the Map. So when Snapchatters are looking for things to do, your content can inspire their next adventure. To start, we're working with select partners like Ticketmaster and The Infatuation to bring Layers to life.
The Ticketmaster Layer will show which concerts are coming up and who's playing at venues nearby. It will launch directly into the new Ticketmaster Mini, where you can buy tickets to the show. Or, when you and your friends are looking for amazing eats nearby, the Infatuation's Layer surfaces the best restaurants on the map.
These Layers will roll out soon, with more to follow.
Camera Kit
Camera Kit makes it possible to bring the intelligence and power of the Snapchat Camera to partner apps. The AR Lenses and experiences that creators build using Lens Studio can now live inside your app, and on Snapchat.
This fall, in celebration of the Walt Disney World® Resort 50th anniversary, we're collaborating with the Disney PhotoPass® Service to bring Snap's Camera technology to Walt Disney World Resort through Camera Kit. Using the My Disney Experience app, guests will be able to transform Cinderella Castle with augmented reality, or add AR to the photos and videos they capture in the app.
Starting today, fans can get an early preview on Snapchat, with new Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Lenses, available in the U.S. for a limited time, and exclusive to Walt Disney World Resort guests beginning next month.
Bumble is also using the power of Camera Kit to add a whole new layer of fun to virtual dating. Launching today, Bumble users can send video notes and use their favorite Snapchat Lenses to personalize their dating experience.
Sticker Kit
On Snapchat, there's a perfect Bitmoji, Sticker, and GIF for every mood, situation, and reaction, and a Friendmoji that captures every friendship. They add so much expressiveness to the moments people capture and want to share.
We're now offering this entire library of creative tools to developers with Sticker Kit! Through one convenient interface, developers can now bring our creative tools into their app experiences. Partners like Bumble are using Sticker Kit to bring Bitmoji, Stickers and Gifs to their platforms later this year, adding so much more fun and meaning to every interaction with friends.
Games and Minis
Snap Games and Minis offer a new and exciting way to create social experiences on Snapchat. They are easy to use, and instantly bring friends together.
Developers can build one Game or Mini that launches instantly inside of Snapchat, with no installation required. And now, developers can earn revenue through our popular format Snap Ads, Snap Tokens, or by offering products for purchase. Our partners are rolling out incredible experiences over the coming year.
Existing Snap Games partner Voodoo is bringing five more games to Snapchat this year, with hits like Voodoo's Hole.io and Crowd City, reimagined as special multiplayer editions just for Snapchat.
Soon, Poshmark is introducing a Mini where you can join real-time shopping events with your Snapchat friends, pick your favorites, and checkout, all without leaving Snapchat.
Later this year, you can use the Ticketmaster Mini to swipe right or left on different artists playing around the world, and connect with friends who want to see the same show.
Games and Minis will soon have a new home! All you have to do is open your Camera and swipe down. Pin and organize your favorites and see timely updates from Games and Minis, all in one convenient place.
