The crews of Su-27SM3 and Su-30M2 fighters of the Southern Military District (SMD) performed training flights over the Black Sea. The pilots repelled the attack of a mock enemy aircraft on a naval base and, in cooperation with the forces of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF), struck back at the ships of the mock enemy.

During the combat training event, aircraft crews improved the skills of complex aerobatics, tactical techniques for intercepting and attacking air targets, practiced countering electronic means and coordination of joint actions when striking surface targets.

About 10 aircraft crews and ships of the Novorossiysk Naval Base of the Black Sea Fleet participated in the training flights, including the patrol ship Vasily Bykov, the small anti-submarine ships Kasimov and Yeisk.
