5/1/24 Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm
(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at approximately 10:08 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 400 block of E. Republic Street on a Shot Spotter alert of 10 rounds fired.
When officers arrived, they did not locate any victims. Several shell casings were located by officers in the 500 block of Frye which is a short distance south of the alert location.
As officers were processing the scene they were informed that an adult male was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound.
During the course of this investigation, police learned that the victim was traveling in a vehicle that was shot at in the area where the Shot Spotter occurred. The victim was not shot but sustained a small cut to the face that came from broken glass during the shooting.
This incident is currently under investigation. There is no suspect information.
