Two Teens Charged in Theft of Vehicle Left Running and Unattended Outside Thompson Lane Convenience September 24, 2021

Detectives assigned to a special robbery initiative early Friday arrested two teens after they bailed from a black Ford Fusion that had been reported stolen on Thursday after it was left running, unoccupied, with the doors unlocked outside a Thompson Lane convenience store. The owner said that he left the car running and unattended because he only planned to briefly be in the store

Detectives spotted the stolen vehicle in the area of Whites Creek Pike and Dickerson Pike. They activated their emergency equipment and the driver fled to the Metrocenter area where both suspects bailed from the car just after midnight. Andrew Mullins, 18, and a 16-year-old male were taken into custody a short time later.

Mullins is charged with vehicle theft and evading arrest. The 16-year-old is charged in Juvenile Court with felony theft of property and evading arrest.
