University Hospitals expands specialty care for children in Lake County

UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Multispecialty Clinic at UH Perrico Health Center opens in Willoughby

University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Multispecialty Clinic at UH Perrico Health Center will open on October 3, 2022, expanding access to care for families in Lake, Ashtabula and Geauga counties. The clinic is located at UH Perrico Health Center (4176 St Rt-306, Suite 300, Willoughby), directly adjacent to LakeHealth OB/GYN Group.

"We are excited to bring specialized pediatric care for common childhood conditions like allergies, asthma, diabetes and sports injuries closer to home for families in Lake and surrounding counties," says Patti DePompei, RN, MSN, President, UH Rainbow Babies & Children's and UH MacDonald Women's hospitals and Rainbow Babies & Children's Foundation Chair in Leadership and Innovation.

The UH Rainbow Multispecialty Clinic at UH Perrico Health Center will expand and integrate services currently offered at the UH Mentor Hopkins Health Center and transition those services to Willoughby, just 5 miles away. The move allows the clinic footprint to triple in size, allowing for 11 examination rooms, flex space for telehealth, and the addition of echocardiography services.

"With the generous help of state capital dollars, now families have convenient access to Rainbow Babies & Children's experts in thirteen pediatric specialties," says Robyn Strosaker, MD, FAAP, President and Chief Operating Officer of UH Lake West, TriPoint and Beachwood medical centers. "This expansion of pediatric specialty services will have a significant impact on the health of children in the community, which has grown by 52 percent over the past five years in Lake County alone."

UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Multispecialty Clinic at UH Perrico Health Center will be kid-friendly and spacious, and offers new to the area expertise in pediatric pulmonology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, urology and neurosurgery. Additional specialties offered in the new clinic are pediatric general surgery, sports medicine, orthopedics, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, nephrology and neurology.
