Following Strong Wind Storm, Eversource Crews Make Great Progress Restoring Power to Customers

Restoration will be substantially complete by 5 p.m.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (March 30, 2021) - Following a strong wind storm that pummeled the state with gusts reaching up to 50 miles per hour, Eversource crews continue to make good progress repairing damage to the electric system. Supported by the arrival of additional crews last night, including from Eversource in Massachusetts, the energy company has restored power to more than 97,000 customers since yesterday morning. Eversource anticipates restoration for the approximately 1,200 customers currently without power to be substantially complete by 5 p.m. today.

'As the strong winds battered our state yesterday, our tireless crews restored power to nearly 100,000 customers in just over 24 hours,' said Eversource NH President Joe Purington. 'With the support of the additional crews that arrived last night, hundreds of line, tree and service workers will continue their around-the-clock efforts today until every customer in the state has power.'

The strong winds that consistently tore across New Hampshire yesterday caused damage to the electric system in every region of the state. Eversource continues to urge customers to always stay clear of downed wires and to report them immediately to 9-1-1.
