The HJT solar module to debut at WCPEC08

On display for the very first time during WCPEC08 - the world conference on photovoltaic energy conversion being held in Milan this year from September 26 to 30 - will be the prototype of the new HJT (heterojunction technology) solar module, which is to be produced at the 3Sun Gigafactory in Catania, Italy.

It's a state-of-the-art double-sided photovoltaic module created using heterojunction technology that combines crystalline silicon with amorphous silicon to reach a power output of 680 watts. HJT guarantees reduced degradation of the photovoltaic module, which ensures high performance even in extreme weather or high temperature conditions. It extends the lifetime of the modules to more than 30 years, ensuring that the solar panels are more efficient and competitive from a number of perspectives, particularly the levelized cost of electricity (LCoE). The approach of using double-sided HJT produces approximately 15-20% more electricity than conventional single-sided panels, thus making it possible to install fewer panels, and in turn reduce the surface area taken up. The module will enter production in 2023.
