Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), chairwoman of the Committee on Education and the Workforce, issued the following statement on the passage of H.R. 3354, the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act, 2018:
'One of the central roles of Congress is to subject the vast federal bureaucracy to congressional oversight, and decide which programs are effective and which are wasteful.
'Through the appropriations process, the House advanced several policy priorities of the Committee on Education and the Workforce that open doors for students and empower workers, and I am pleased these priorities had the attention of the whole House with this bill.'
