Domestic incident in Delaware County results in numerous charges

On May 10, 2024, New York State Police at Sidney arrested Duane L. Gardepe, age 61 of Masonville, NY after a domestic dispute at a residence on Axtell Road in the town of Masonville.

Gardepe has been charged with the following crimes:

• Rape in the first degree (class "B" felony)
• Criminal Sexual Act in the first degree (class "B" felony)
• Kidnapping in the second degree (class "B" felony)
• Sexual Abuse in the first degree (class "D" felony)
• Aggravated Sexual Abuse in the third degree (class "D" felony)
• Unlawful Imprisonment in the first degree (class "E" felony)
• Menacing in the second degree (misdemeanor)
• Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree - Damage Property (misdemeanor)
• Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree - Prevent Emergency Call (misdemeanor)

An investigation revealed that Gardepe menaced and threatened a victim, prevented the victim from leaving, calling 911 and forced unwanted sexual acts.

Gardepe was processed and arraigned where he was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on no bail.
