Prof. Hubert Gijzen delivers a Public Lecture at the University of Juba

On 11 March 2022, Prof. Hubert Gijzen, delivered a public lecture on "Transforming Africa: The Role of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in Accelerating SDG Implementation" at the University of Juba main campus. The event was attended by over 200 participants that included the Minister of Labor, Hon. James Hoth Mai, Deputy Vice Chancellors, the academia, and students.

At the opening, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Juba, Prof. John Akec, applauded UNESCO for considering the public lecture which provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing. In his remarks, he underscored that for any country to prosper and achieve meaningful development for its people, it must ensure accessible quality higher education and with greater emphasis on research and development.
