Nassau County Woman arrested following a vehicle pursuit on I-81

State Police in Watertown arrested Siobhan G. Smith, age 31 from Rockville Center, NY for Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, a class 'A' misdemeanor and Reckless Driving, An unclassified misdemeanor. On September 16, 2019, at 4:08 p.m., Troopers attempted to stop a 2007 Hyundai Tucson for speeding (92 mph) that was traveling northbound on Interstate 81 in the town of Watertown. The driver refused to stop and continued to travel north on I-81 at high speeds of 106 mph. The pursuit was terminated due to public safety concerns. Shortly thereafter, a State Police Investigator located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot in the town of Alexandria Bay at a gas pump. Siobhan G. Smith was placed into custody and arraigned in the town of Watertown Court for the charges of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, Reckless Driving, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations which occurred in the townships of Watertown, Pamelia, and Orleans. She was arraigned in the town of Watertown Court and was remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $2,500 cash bail/$5,000 bond. Troopers were also advised the same vehicle was involved in a similar pursuit approximately one-hour earlier in Onondaga County.
