Felon to Serve 46 Years in Prison After Jury Finds Him Guilty in Robbery Spree

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that 40-year-old Londarr S. Ward of Buffalo was sentenced on Friday afternoon before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to 46 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision as a second violent felony offender.

On Monday, February 22, 2021, at approximately 7:38 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from a Sunoco convenience store on Union Road in the Town of Cheektowaga.

On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at approximately 8:39 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from a Kwik Fill convenience store on Harlem Road in the Town of Cheektowaga.

On Sunday, February 28, 2021, at approximately 8:23 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from a Kwik Fill convenience store on Millersport Highway in the Town of Amherst.

On Sunday, March 7, 2021, at approximately 7:43 p.m., the defendant displayed what appeared to be a pistol and forcibly stole cash from the register and scratch-off lottery tickets from a Marathon gas station store on Grover Cleveland Highway in the Town of Amherst.

On Monday, March 8, 2021, the defendant was found in possession of lottery tickets reported stolen from the gas station store on Grover Cleveland Highway while being placed under arrest.

In January 2024, a jury found Wardguilty offour counts of Robbery in the First Degree (Class "B" violent felonies) and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor). Jurors rendered their decision after approximately one hour of deliberations, convicting the defendant of all counts in the indictment against him.

Ward also has a separate pending case for a crime he allegedly committed while in pre-trial custody for the robbery cases. He was indicted on one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class "D" felony).

It is alleged that on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at approximately 10:03 a.m., the defendant assaulted his defense attorney during a meeting inside of the Erie County Correctional Facility on Walden Avenue in the Town of Alden. The defendant punched the victim multiple times with a closed fist, which caused injuries to the victim's face, left shoulder and chest.

Ward is scheduled to return for a pre-trial conference on the assault case before Acting Erie County Court Judge Carrie Phillips on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The case is scheduled for a jury trial in September 2024.

Acting DA Keane commends the many detectives of the Amherst Police Department, Cheektowaga Police Department and the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the robbery investigations. Acting DA Keane also commends the Erie County Sheriff's Office for their work in the defendant's pending criminal case.

The robbery case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Hilarie L. Henry of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau. The assault case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Briana R. D. Kalman and Joelle M. Marino of the Felony Trials Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
