Danville, Calif. - Join park rangers as we explore the plays of award-winning playwright, Eugene O'Neill and their connection to the night sky on Saturday, May 21 from 8-10 p.m. Attendees will connect with the stars above Danville through O'Neill's storytelling and the history of astronomy. Park rangers at the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site will present a program in the historic "Old Barn" and then we will step out into the night for a guided discussion about one of the major constellations visible in late spring.

Please arrive at the shuttle pick-up location in downtown Danville by 7:45 p.m. to experience this fun and educational opportunity! Visitors should meet at 205 Railroad Avenue, Danville, CA. All ages welcome.
Created in 1976, Eugene O'Neill NHS preserves the home and landscapes of Eugene O'Neill and his wife, Carlotta Monterey. Of all the places Eugene O'Neill called home during his restless life, Tao (pronounced "Dow") House was the one that held him longest, the refuge where he wrote his last plays. In early 1937, he and Carlotta were living in a San Francisco hotel. "No roots. No home," Carlotta wrote as they searched for a place to live. Drawn to the privacy and climate of the San Ramon Valley, they purchased a 158-acre ranch near Danville and planned what O'Neill hoped would be his final home.
The Eugene O'Neill NHS must be accessed through a private, gated road owned by a community of neighboring residents; therefore, it is only accessible to the public by shuttle. Open Wednesday-Sunday, reservations are required every day except for Saturday, tours are offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Admission to the site is free of charge.
