Tanner leads Jacks in opening round

PALM DESERT, Calif. - The South Dakota State men's golf team is in 16th place in an elite 21-team field at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.


Through the initial 18 holes, the Jackrabbits hold a team score of 297 (+9). Oregon leads the field at 10-under-par 278, while Charlotte is in second with 279 (-9).

'We saw a lot of good things to start the spring,' said head golf coach Golf . 'The guys did a great job at competing today. We are looking forward to tomorrow.'

leads the way for State tied for 20th at 1-under-par 71. is also in the top 40 in a 119-player field at 1-over-par 73. shot a 75 (+3), while went 6-over-par 78.
