Mayor Jane Castor will be joining a krewe of Gasparilla pirates and partner organizations to announce a new campaign in line with her sustainability and resilience initiative: Bead-Free Bay.
The City of Tampa and Mayor Jane Castor are proud to collaborate with community partners like Chappell Roberts, the Florida Aquarium, EventFest, Yacht Star Ship, Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, Krewe of Sant 'Yago, Rough Riders, EventFest, Green Gasparilla, and other local partners to promote a fun, safe, and sustainable event season.
Each year, countless beads and other non-biodegradable debris ends up in our city's waterways. This year, Mayor Jane Castor hopes to raise awareness about the damage litter causes to our environment and marine life. To raise awareness about this important issue, Mayor Castor will be holding a press conference to reveal certain actions the City is taking to crack down on littering this event season.
