ROBINSON LANDING WINS 'EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION' AWARD

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington and Virginia honored Donohoe Construction project, Robinson Landing, with the 2021 "Excellence in Construction" award in the 'Residential Multi-Mid Rise Construction' category. The Donohoe Construction project team accepted this award during the annual awards ceremony held on Wednesday, September 22nd at the Ritz Carlton in McLean, Virginia.

The Excellence in Construction awards program is developed to honor innovative and outstanding quality construction projects. The award recognizes all project team members, including the contractor, owner, architect, engineer and subcontractors. The winning projects are selected from entries submitted from across the DC metro area and judged in 24 award categories by industry experts on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

Developed by Robinson Landing Development Entities and designed by Shalom Baranes Associates, luxury condominium community includes three buildings with 70 units total and features amenities such as a fitness center, yoga studio, pet spa, and lounge, as well as a public waterfront wine bar with outdoor seating over the Potomac River. The Robinson Landing project is LEED Silver Certified.

During excavation, the Robinson Landing project made headlines due to the archaeological investigation and preservation of three ships from the Revolutionary War area that were discovered on site. In addition to the three ships, the archaeological dig also uncovered foundations of several commercial and industrial buildings from the 18th and 19th century and foreign coins from Ireland, Britain, France, and Spain. All of the artifacts were donated to the City of Alexandria.
