DeSales University has appointed Wendy Hinton, a higher education executive with 15 years of experience, as the next vice president for institutional advancement.

Hinton, who was most recently the associate vice president for institutional advancement: campaign and development at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, will begin her new role at DeSales on May 15. She will lead all fundraising efforts and alumni relations.

"We are excited to welcome Wendy to DeSales. Her experience and expertise align exceedingly well with our Catholic, Salesian mission, especially in terms of philanthropic outreach and engagement."

Father James Greenfield, OSFS '84, Ed.D., University president

Hinton has been at King's College since 2018, serving as director of advancement communications and executive director of college marketing and communications before being appointed as an associate vice president in 2022. In that role, she has overseen all fundraising efforts associated with annual giving, planned giving, and major gifts.

Hinton's various duties throughout her tenure at King's concluded with management of the largest comprehensive campaign in the College's history, Send Us Forth: The Campaign for King's, which raised $56.8 million, surpassing its $50 million goal.

Prior to her roles at King's College, Hinton worked as director of programming and special events and director of external relations at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She has a Master of Science in organizational management from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in visual and performing arts from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
