Town of Davie Sewer Force Main Replacement Project Date Extended

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 30, 2022

TOWN OF DAVIE TO COMMENCE A SEWER FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT DATE EXTENDED

Location: SW 61st Avenue Between Stirling and Griffin Road

DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie Utilities Department has extended the sewer force main replacement project along SW 61st Avenue between Stirling Road and Griffin Road through August 2022 (see map).

The project will take place Mondays through Thursdays, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include the replacement of a 16-inch sewer force main utilizing a method called pipe bursting. This method allows pipes to be replaced without an open trench installation, only requiring openings at every 250-feet and service connections. The pipe bursting method minimizes construction interruptions to residents and reduces restoration requirements. This process will allow the project to proceed faster.

While the traffic impact is anticipated to be minor, those traveling along this roadway should expect delays or avoid this route, if feasible. The town's contractor will place informational signage and a flag person along the road to assist traffic flow.

Individuals with additional questions regarding this project may contact the onsite Project Foreman, Bill Hilyard, at 863-661-3192. To connect with the town's Utilities Department points of contact for this project, individuals can contact Robert Walker at 954-743-9406 and Bill Peele at 954-448-0429.
