Russian sappers have cleared about 2.6 thousand hectares of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh

During the year of the peacekeeping operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian sappers cleared about 2.6 thousand hectares of the region's territory. This was stated by the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin.

"No less important task in the process of restoring peaceful life is performed by specialists of engineering units of our contingent. Sappers found and neutralized more than 26 thousand explosive objects. About 2 thousand buildings and structures of social infrastructure were checked - gas pipelines, communication lines, roads to schools, hospitals and religious sites. In total, about 2.6 thousand hectares of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, including farmland, have been cleared," Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin said.
