#RiseUp to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month this July

This July, the City of Tyler is celebrating Parks and Recreation Month by acknowledging how Tyler is stronger, more vibrant and resilient because of our Parks and Recreation Department. To commemorate the month, the community is invited to share their experiences, memories and stories about our City's parks using the hashtag #RiseUpJuly on social media.

"Parks and Recreation has a universal impact on the lives of millions of people around the world," said Director of Parks and Recreation Leanne Robinette. "Parks help promote health and wellness, equity and conservation while increasing the value of homes, and most of all creating a strong sense of community."

"We are proud to work for an organization that advocates for parks and understands the importance of every park and recreational program that we host," said Robinette. "We strive to ensure our residents have a great quality of life along with enticing visitors from other places in the world to come visit our great City."

Parks and Recreation Month is an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to championing the work of park and recreation professionals and advocates.
