Aker BioMarine Continues to Strengthen its Team at Company Headquarters

Marine biotechnology executive, Ragnhild Dragøy, joins Aker BioMarine as Director of Sustainability and Marte Dalsegg, the company's former Content Manager, will take over as the new Communications Director.

As the new Director of Sustainability for Aker BioMarine, Ragnhild Dragøy will be responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives to support the company purpose to improve human and planetary health. Dragøy comes from the role of Research Director, Marine Biotechnology, for Nofima Norway, a position she held since 2014.

Norway-native Dragøy received her MBA in 'Sustainable Innovation in Global Seafood' from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in 2018. She also holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Tufts University, in addition to a Master of Science in Forensic Science, Chemistry from Kings College London. These degrees were preceded by a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tromsø, Norway.

At Nofima, Dragøy's work was focused on sustainability, green innovation, as well as leading a research group. In addition, she currently chairs the marine research funding organization MABIT and previously served as a board member of the Life Science Cluster and Biotech North.

For the past four years, Marte Dalsegg has been an integral part of Aker BioMarine's communication team, leading the company's content and social media strategies. In her new role as Communications Director, she will be responsible for Aker BioMarine's global external communication to further lift awareness around the company's mission, operations, people and products as one ofthe world's leading biotech companies.
