Coordinated Effort Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man Who Fled from Detectives

A coordinated effort this morning led to the arrest of Randall Conquest, 38, after he fled from officers in a stolen Toyota Tundra. The black Tundra had been reported stolen from a home on Wingate Avenue with the keys inside and matched the description of the vehicle that fled from Midtown Hills detectives last week.

Midtown Hills detectives once again spotted the Tundra, this time with a different Tennessee license plate, at the Red Roof Inn on Sidco Drive. The Tundra was followed, with help from MNPD Aviation, to the Willow Apartments on Plus Park Boulevard.

Conquest then ran from the car and got into a black Toyota Camry with no tags in an attempt to flee. Officers were able to block the Camry before Conquest ran on foot into the adjoining wood line.

Canine Officer John Gilpin and his partner Braxx apprehended Conquest. He was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Aviation observed Conquest throwing things from his pockets prior to being taken into custody. Officers recovered a .380 semiautomatic pistol, a small bag of methamphetamine, and a small bag of heroin along Conquest's path.

The black Camry was recently painted and was discovered to have been stolen from the Planet Fitness on Murfreesboro Pike while the owner was working out.

Conquest has three felony outstanding warrants, including a sex offender registration violation, and faces additional charges for this incident. He will be booked upon his release from the hospital.
