Aguilar Announces $86,500 for Rancho Cucamonga Fire Prevention Program

Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District has received $86,500 from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program. The funding will be used to install smoke alarms in an estimated 1,650 mobile home and low-income housing units in the city serving roughly 5,000 residents.

"This funding will help save lives in our region. As fire seasons become increasingly devastating, our fire departments need access to these types of resources to keep residents safe. Early detection is key to preventing tragedies from fire, and I'm proud to have supported this funding," said Aguilar.

"These grant funds will directly contribute to the health and safety of our community. We know that the benefits of early fire detection from a simple device like a smoke alarm saves lives. This program supports our Fire Board and City Council's core value of "promoting and enhancing a safe and healthy community for all. We truly appreciate the collaboration and support from our federal partners in helping us make our Rancho Cucamonga community safer," said Rancho Cucamonga Fire Chief Ivan Rojer.

Aguilar Serves on the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee, the committee responsible for providing funding for federal programs and agencies like DHS.
