Perfect Game Chooses Cedar Park as Headquarters

Perfect Game chooses Cedar Park as headquarters
Perfect Game is world's largest, most comprehensive youth baseball and softball scouting organization

The world's largest and most comprehensive youth baseball and softball scouting organization, Perfect Game, has chosen Cedar Park as its headquarters. The Cedar Park City Council voted to approve the deal, as recommended by the City's Economic Development (Type 4A) and Community Development (Type 4B) Sales Tax Corporations, at its September 23, 2021 City Council Meeting. The project will create a new and thriving industry in sports tourism that Cedar Park has yet to see, and solidify Cedar Park as both a tourism and business destination.
Perfect Game's Mission is to promote the games of baseball and softball now and in the future, by hosting the highest quality amateur events while providing meaningful opportunities and information to players, families, MLB organizations, college coaches and fans. Under the agreements, Perfect Game will lease an 80-acre City-owned tract from the City's 4B Community Development Corporation through the next 20 years; PG Group purchased an adjacent 30 acres of land for commercial development. Both will be located on a 112-acre tract the City's Type B Community Development Corporation recently purchased from the Krienke family. It is located near the northeast intersection of Ronald Reagan and Whitestone Boulevards.
Mayor Corbin Van Arsdale said, "Economic vitality is one of our City Council's strategic goals, and this partnership with Perfect Game literally hits it out of the park. This project with the leading baseball and softball scouting organization in the country will generate more than $20 million in new net revenue to the City of Cedar Park and will attract an entire new economy that expands employment and business opportunities for decades to come."
Perfect Game President Jerry Ford says Central Texas was the organization's number one location choice, and they are extremely excited for it to be in Cedar Park.
"We believe that Cedar Park's leadership shares our vision and goals for not only the games of baseball and softball, but the community as well," Ford said. "This project will benefit the community through the large local economic impact Perfect Game delivers by hosting best-in-class tournaments and related activities that attract hundreds of thousands of families from across the United States."
Master Developer Josh Sanders says he's thrilled about the location and the project. "As a local resident in Central Texas myself, I am excited to be the Master Developer of this project. I commend the ability of Cedar Park's leadership to possess the vision and strategic goals to facilitate the many local economic impacts and community related benefits this project will generate for the City of Cedar Park and its community is astounding."
The project is expected to help attract and grow major hotel and convention space and other destination projects, in keeping with the City's Strategic Plan, plus local residents will be able to enjoy the amenities. Teams from around the nation will come to Perfect Game's complex for tournaments, resulting in 60,000-plus room nights in the first year and around 150,000 room nights by year 10. Perfect Game will also allow the City use of the ball fields for the community, local nonprofits and governmental entities for a minimum of 25 days per year with no cost to the City. The turf will be synthetic, limiting the need for landscape irrigation. Perfect Game will make an estimated capital investment of $4 million and hire 40 full-time employees.
When complete, Sanders says Perfect Game will move into its new, on-site office building headquarters, and his group will be developing many restaurants, retail locations and hotels to support and serve local residents as well as the many families traveling from across the country to Cedar Park for Perfect Game's events.
Construction of the facility is expected to start June 1, 2022 and be completed by March 1, 2024.
