(Bqp.vn) - Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Defense Minister hosted a reception for Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament's Chamber of Deputies and Chairman of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM) Vojtěch Filip in Hanoi on June 11.

At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang suggested that Vietnam and the Czech Republic should continue enhancing defense cooperation, especially in the field of defense industry. Accordingly, the two sides should increase experience exchanges and cooperation to address the consequences of bombs and mines left over from war and participate in the UN peacekeeping operations. The two sides should continue promoting delegation exchanges at all levels and scientific research and technology as well, he also said.
For his part, Vojtěch Filip thanked the host for the warm reception and affirmed that the Czech Republic always attaches importance to developing traditional and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, including defense industry. He also expressed his hope that the bilateral defense ties would be more practical and effective in the coming time.
