LOUISVILLE, Ky., July 20, 2019 - 2018 World and 2016 Olympic all-around champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, and Konnor McClain of Cross Lanes, W.Va./Revolution Gymnastics, won the senior and junior all-around titles, respectively, at the 2019 GK U.S. Classic at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky.
Following the conclusion of the event, the women's Athlete Selection Committee determined the U.S. Team who will compete in the 2019 Pan American Games, which begin on July 24 in Lima, Peru. Pending approval by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the members of the team are Kara Eaker of Grain Valley, Mo./Great American Gymnastics Express; Aleah Finnegan of Lee's Summit, Mo./Great American Gymnastics Express; Morgan Hurd of Middletown, Del./First State Gymnastics; Riley McCusker of Brielle, N.J./MG Elite; Leanne Wong of Overland Park, Kansas/Great American Gymnastics Express; and Shilese Jones of Westerville, Ohio/Future Gymnastics Academy, non-traveling alternate. The process for selecting the team is detailed in the selection procedures.
In the senior division, Biles won her 19th straight all-around title with a 60.000 total. McCusker was second at 57.900, followed by Grace McCallum of Isanti, Minn./Twin City Twisters, in third with 57.700. Rounding out the top five were Eaker in fourth (56.800) and Wong in fifth (56.650). The senior event champions were vault, Jade Carey of Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Sunrays, 14.800 (14.900/14.700); uneven bars, Hurd, 14.700; balance beam, Eaker, 15.400; and floor exercise, Biles, 15.000.
In the junior division, McClain won the all-around title at 55.600. Sydney Barros of Lewisville, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics, was just 0.300 behind in second at 55.300. Olivia Greaves of Staten Island, N.Y./MG Elite, took third at 54.750. Rounding out the top five were Skye Blakely of Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics, in fourth with a 53.950, and Ciena Alipio of San Jose, Calif./West Valley Gymnastics School, in fifth (53.900). The junior event champions were: vault/14.800 and balance beam/14.350, McClain; uneven bars/14.200, Greaves; and floor exercise/13.750, Blakely.
