MAYBEE ROAD TO CLOSE AT BALDWIN ROAD IN ORION TOWNSHIP
ON APPROXIMATELY JULY 11
Beverly Hills, MI - The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Maybee Road at Baldwin Road in Orion Township on or shortly after Thursday, July 11, as part of the ongoing Baldwin Road widening project.
Maybee will then remain closed through the fall. The detour route for eastbound Maybee traffic will be Rohr Road to Gregory Road to Baldwin Road. The detour routes for westbound Maybee traffic will be Joslyn Road to Waldon Road to Baldwin Road to Gregory Road to Rohr Road and back to Maybee or Joslyn Road to Brown Road to Baldwin Road to Gregory Road to Rohr Road and back to Maybee.
Northbound and southbound traffic on Baldwin Road will be maintained; however, traffic will be unable to turn onto Maybee Road.
The closure is needed so new concrete can be placed at the intersection, water lines and storm sewers can be installed and a hill reduced at the intersection to improve sight distance.
The Baldwin project is a $50 million, multi-year transformational effort that is widening and reconstructing Baldwin from Morgan Road to Waldon Road just north of I-75 including the construction of five modern roundabouts, the addition of pathways along the road and extensive landscaping (by the township).
