1/20/2022 – LA Animal Services Thanks Petco Love for $100,000 Grant

Los Angeles, January 20, 2022 - LA Animal Services would like to thank Petco Love for the $100,000 grant that supported lifesaving programs throughout 2021, which helped expand our lifesaving efforts to help the animals in our shelters find permanent homes and keep families together.

"We are extremely grateful to have the continued support of Petco Love, which helps to further our mission and go above and beyond to better serve the pets and people in our community," said Dana Brown, General Manager for LA Animal Services.

The generous grant from Petco Love is enabling LA Animal Services to expand enrichment activities by supporting programs like Boredom Busters, which reduces stress and helps improve the well-being of our shelter guests - enabling them to better engage with their surroundings to prepare them for their new homes.

The grant also expanded our Pet Food Pantry allowing us to open an additional location to ensure pet food is available to pet owners in Los Angeles who need assistance in caring for their companion animals. Petco Love has also supported our Foster Program by providing necessary supplies to transition shelter pets into temporary homes and the Special Treatment and Recovery Program, which provided lifesaving medical care for animals in the shelter.

Previously known as the Petco Foundation, Petco Love is a nonprofit that has invested more than $300 million to date in pet adoption and other lifesaving efforts. They've also helped to find homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and other organizations, including LA Animal Services.
