Connecting Smart Machinery and Digital Business Opportunities between Taiwan and Japan
In order to help Taiwan's machinery industry take advantage of digital precision marketing and improve its performance during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on 21 July held the Taiwan-Japan Digital Trade Event Series, the 2nd of its online seminars in 2021.
The morning session emphasized the benefits of digitalization for machinery companies. Director General Cynthia Kiang of the BOFT described plans to produce videos that show the delicate movements of machines accompanied by fitting music, as well as establish the first ever 360-degree AR/VR platform for virtual business meetings. These new plans are expected to spur interaction, enthusiasm and efficiency during business activities of Taiwan's machinery industry with its international customers, particularly Japanese.
The afternoon session featured the expertise of professionals and enterprises with outstanding experience in conquering difficulties during the process of digitalization. Their presentations provided insights for exploring the Japanese machinery market via social media, such as the popular Twitter and Facebook at present, and the potential LinkedIn for the future.
There will be another online seminar on 23 July to conclude the series on Taiwan-Japan Digital Trade. The major participants of the previous seminars will also engage in a 'salon' panel discussion to shed light on further prospects for Taiwan-Japan digital trade cooperation. Amazon, Rakuten and other online vendors will share their experiences and success stories in the Japanese market and analyze the current status of Japan's B2C and B2B e-commerce markets, as well as the keys to their success.
