President visits the Innovation Technopark

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Innovation Training and Production Technopark in the Student town.

Technopark is an integration of three types of activities - education, science and production. Here, students can become familiar with and test in practice modern technologies and techniques, participate in the design and production of finished products, which will contribute to the consolidation of the theoretical knowledge gained and the generation of new ideas.

The Head of the state got acquainted with the conditions created here.

The three-story building is equipped with advanced technologies in robotics, energy, electrical engineering and biotechnology. On the ground floor, there are laboratories for welding, electrical discharge machining, wood and plastic processing, premises for start-ups. The floors above are classrooms and coworking spaces, robotics and standardization rooms, gyms, administration, library, offices.

The President noted the importance of creating a management company in the technopark and taking organizational measures for the realization of products. "Five years ago, few young people had access to such centers and laboratories. And those who could did not have enough funds for their projects. Because there was no money for science. Now it is necessary to teach young people to produce and sell products that are in demand on the market, using these conditions and equipment. If they start earning, they will have a desire, they will devote themselves to this sphere", Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Instructions were given on the wide involvement of students of technical universities in the technopark, carrying out practical classes here, and the improvement of curricula taking into account advanced technologies.

In the innovative technopark, students are not charged for internships. Tax incentives have been introduced for residents. A greenhouse for biological experiments is organized.

The head of the state got acquainted with projects being implemented in the biotechnology laboratory. The importance of promoting import-substituting products manufactured by residents, supporting them and their projects was emphasized.

The President talked with students and young scientists. A conversation took place with media representatives.
