Rep. Frankel Statement on Florida Job Growth

West Palm Beach, FL - Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) released the following statement in response to a new jobs reportfrom the Joint Economic Committee which details an increase of 284,700 new jobs in the state of Florida since President Biden took office.

"The investments Congress and the Biden Administration made in working families through the American Rescue Plan are already paying off as more Americans return to work, dropping the unemployment rate to a pandemic-era low," said Rep. Frankel. "Here in Florida, nearly 300,000 jobs have been created; jobs that are helping keep families in their homes, put food on the table, and get our economy back on track. I look forward to voting for the bipartisan Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act and the Build Back Better Act next week to continue to grow our economy from the bottom-up and from the middle-out, and help our working families get through these challenging times."

The Joint Economic Committee compiles state-by-state data for all 50 states and the District of Columbia, following the Bureau of Labor Statistics' monthly jobs report. In the month of August, the latest for which state-level data is available, Florida created 15,500 jobs.
