Concession Stand Operator Saught

The City is seeking a qualified operator for concession stand services at Stitzel Field adjacent to historic Eastman Park and across the street from Lincoln Field. The city has released a Request for Proposalsfor an operator.

The concession area is located on the southeast corner of the Stitzel Field Parking Lot and includes a full kitchen and public restrooms, to be maintained by the licensee.

"This is a perfect spot for a concessionaire; it's a high active area that features athletic fields where both youth and adults play baseball, football, soccer and a host of other sports," said Mayor Yvonne Flowers. "We are looking for proposals that will complement existing park uses as well as create a new draw for residents and visitors alike."

The site is close to one of the city's major employers, Vassar Brothers Medical Center. The surrounding residential neighborhoods include historic single-family homes as well as Eastman Tower and Harriet Tubman Terrace Apartments, both of which feature affordable-housing units.

City officials said this development should align with the sports-focused nature of the location and cater to the demographics of the surrounding neighborhood. Proposers are encouraged to consider different use scenarios for various times of the day or seasons, ensuring the facility remains family-friendly and neighborhood-compatible.

Additionally, the city is expressing interest in further development of the existing structure to accommodate indoor dining, provided that the restaurant facility retains a concession window and continues to offer affordable to-go options.

Questions should be submitted in writing via e-mail no later than 4 p.m. May 10, 2024 to [email protected].

Proposals are due in the City Chamberlian's Office on the 1st floor of City Hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza, Poughkeepsie NY, 12601 in the format described below no later than 3 p.m. on May 17, 2024. City residents and business owners are strongly encouraged to apply.
