The crew of the Pacific Fleet's Admiral Panteleyev large anti-submarine ship conducted a search, tracking and destruction exercise of a mock enemy submarine in the northern Sea of Okhotsk while practising routine combat training tasks.
Within the exercise, the ship's crew practised interaction with pilots of the Tu-142MZ long-range anti-submarine aircraft and the Ka-27PL helicopter of the PF naval aviation, which searched for the enemy submarine from the air and placed acoustic buoys.
After making contact with the "enemy" submarine, the crew of the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleyev successfully carried out a training fire at the specified coordinates, using depth-charge reactive engine depth bombs and anti-submarine torpedoes.
The undersea target was simulated electronically during the exercise.
