Facebook Live event from State Historical Society Museum coming Feb. 11

PIERRE, S.D. -- Join South Dakota State Historical Society Museum Curator of Collections Katy Schmidt for a virtual walk-through of the Cultural Heritage Center exhibit "South Dakota's Wardrobe: Selected Pieces from the Collection" on Friday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. CST (10 a.m. MST).

Schmidt will take viewers on a personal guided tour of the exhibit, highlighting some of the unique pieces on display and sharing insights these pieces can give us into history.

"Clothing gives us a unique look into the past," said Schmidt. "It helps us to connect to the stories of the past on a personal level."

The public can watch and ask questions during the live event on the Cultural Heritage Center's Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/MuseumSD. For more information, email Schmidt at [email protected].

"South Dakota's Wardrobe" is currently on display at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre through April 14, 2022.

The museum is open for visitors. Signage encourages visitors to maintain 6-foot social distancing, and hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the galleries. Hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CST (8-3:30 p.m. MST) Monday-Saturday and 1-4:30 p.m. CST (12-3:30 p.m. MST) Sundays. Admission is free for all South Dakota adults and children.
