Widener Announces New Director of Wolfgram Memorial Library

Deb Morley is the new director of the Wolfgram Memorial Library.

Chester, Pa. - Widener University is proud to announce that Deb Morley will serve as the new director of the Wolfgram Memorial Library. Morley comes to Widener from Drexel University where she is currently the director of data and digital stewardship. Her role at Widener begins July 16.

In her capacity as director, Morley will oversee all library staff who work to support undergraduate and graduate programs offered on the university's main campus, develop online courses and other innovative teaching and learning strategies, as well as host university archives. Morley will also work to foster collaboration between the library and academic and administrative partners across campus.

'I am thrilled to join the Widener community as director of the Wolfgram Memorial Library,' said Morley. 'I look forward to working in an institution with such a rich history, emphasis on student learning, top-quality undergraduate and graduate programs, and frequent collaboration across campus.'

A native of Ohio, Morley brings an extensive career in academic librarianship and academic technology to Widener. Prior to her role at Drexel, she served as head of reference and instructional services at University of Delaware Library, following management positions at MIT Libraries and Harvard College Library. Before her time at Harvard, Morley worked in the field of information technology.

Morley holds bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial and systems engineering from Ohio University. She earned her master's degree in library science at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. A resident of Haverford, Pennsylvania, Morley lives with her wife Gina and their two cats.
