Bali, September 21, 2022 - The Solar Power Plant (PLTS) on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road has officially started operating. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) constructed this PLTS through its subsidiary PT Bukit Energi Investama (BEI) to facilitate the operations of PT Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT), itself a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (Jasa Marga). In his speech, the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, said that building PLTS on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road is in line with the goals of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali, that are to protect Bali's natural environment. To start making this project a success, the Bali Provincial Government has issued Governor Regulation Number 45 of 2019 about Bali Clean Energy. One of the regulations is to use energy that is beneficial to the environment and will improve the image of tourism in Bali.

"Bali needs to get better and be more competitive in the future. To get Bali's tourism to the next level, it needs to develop eco-friendly and long-term tourism. One way this is happening is through the building of PLTS on the Bali Mandara Toll Road. Wayan Koster said, "This toll road is not only a way for people to get around, but it is also a way for Balinese culture and wisdom to be shown.

Assistant Deputy for Infrastructure Services at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Hendrika Nora Osloi Sinaga appreciated the cooperation between PTBA and Jasa Marga, that is one of the concrete steps to achieve global carbon emission reduction, one of the priorities of the Indonesian G20 Presidency.

"This is the first time I've seen the toll road business process collaborate with the construction of PLTS; this is a significant advance. Nora stated that the Ministry of StateOwned Enterprises firmly supports this collaboration, that is in accordance with the goal of obtaining a 23 percent share of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) in the national energy mix by 2025.

Arsal Ismail, the president and director of the PTBA, stated that the organization's goal is to evolve into a world-class energy and chemical firm that cares about the environment. The investment strategy of new and renewable energy-based power plants (EBT) continues to expand as PTBA implements a transformation. This is compatible with one of the three priorities of Indonesia's G20 Presidency, namely the transition to a sustainable energy source.

"The company's expansion into the sector of new and renewable energy continues. PTBA and Jasa Marga's collaboration on the building of solar power plants (PLTS) on the Jasa Marga Group toll road is one kind of development. This is an endeavor to promote the reduction of carbon global emissions, "added Arsal. This PLTS solar panel has a maximum capacity of 400 Kilowatt-peak (kWp) and is positioned at three toll gates along the Bali-Mandara Toll Road at six different locations. One kilometer is the length of the solar panels at each of these locations (km). The electricity obtained by the PLTS will be a sustainable energy source for Public Street Lighting (PJU) lighting, operational offices, and toll gates on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road.

Subakti Syukur, president director at Jasa Marga, has thanked the Bali Provincial Government and the Ministry of SOEs for their support of the Bali Mandara Toll Road landscape arrangement program and their advocacy for the use of environmentally friendly technology on toll roads through the implementation of PLTS. Subakti also expressed his gratitude to the Bukit Asam Group via PT BEI and PT JBT, the two companies responsible for realizing this PLTS facility in a way that met all of the company 's vision and mission.

"Jasa Marga continues to seek to maximize existing potentials by implementing a variety of innovations and collaborations that can generate added value for all stakeholders and major community benefits. Subakti expected that the implementation of this PLTS would be the first step in presenting more productive programs to generate economic, social, and environmental advantages, consistent with Jasa Marga's commitment to constructing sustainable toll roads.

The Bali-Mandara Toll Road arrangement, that is built on green environment principles and is intended to welcome the implementation of the G20 Presidency in Bali in November 2022, became completed within the entirety by the third week of August 2022. Landscaping, green environment in the program of planting a total of 756,800 mangrove seedlings, tree planting to gardening, green energy in the construction of PLTS in collaboration with PT BEI, to the addition of local Balinese culture in the ornaments of Public Street Lighting (PJU), renovation toll gates, and installation of Balinese dancer sculptures are merely a number of the arrangements that have been made.
