Woodland, CA - The period for an individual to declare candidacy and begin circulating nomination papers begins on February 12th. All candidates must file a declaration of candidacy and ballot designation worksheet with the elections office, and collect nomination signatures. All candidates must pay the filing fee when they receive their nomination papers. The number of valid signatures a candidate received during the signatures in-lieu of a filing fee process can be subtracted from the number he or she must collect for nomination. If the number of signatures in lieu of filing fee meets the required number of signatures for nomination, the candidate does not need to circulate nomination papers. Candidates have until 5 p.m. on March 9th to collect their nomination signatures and submit their declaration of candidacy, ballot designation worksheets and candidate statement (if applicable) with the County Elections Office located at 625 Court Street, Room B-05, Woodland, CA 95695.
