PRESIDENT OF LUKOIL AND PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN DISCUSS COOPERATION PROSPECTS

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov in Nur-Sultan.
LUKOIL's leader presented an account of the Company's last year activities in Kazakhstan, including implementation of joint projects by LUKOIL and KazMunayGas. The parties discussed the current state and future prospects for Zhenis and Al-Farabi offshore projects, as well as possibilities to further cooperation.
While in Kazakhstan, Vagit Alekperov also met with Nursultan Nazarbayev, the First President of the country.

LUKOIL and KazMunayGas collaborate on Karachaganak and Tengiz projects; they also have joint ventures for development of the Zhenis, Al-Farabi, Khvalynskoye and Tsentralnoye fields. The two companies cooperate within the framework of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium oil transportation project.
In 2019, LUKOIL opened a lubricants plant in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan. The facility's production range includes 700 lubricants created with innovative molecular technologies and approved by world's leading car manufacturers. It also created over 220 new jobs for the Kazakhs, particularly for graduates of local universities.
