Burleson Police Department wants your input

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) will conduct a virtual site assessment of the Burleson Police Department from Monday, February 7 - through Wednesday, February 9, 2022. The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services. Burleson was the first police department in Texas to become accredited by CALEA in 1987.

The voluntary accreditation program for law enforcement agencies was created through the joint effort of four major law enforcement executive membership associations: International Association of Chiefs of Police; National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives; National Sheriff's Association; and the Police Executive Research Forum. The Burleson Police Department provides annual reports to the Commission to ensure compliance with the standards and/or report changes or challenges experienced during the year, including actions taken to resolve noncompliance.

As part of the assessment, the public may comment by attending a virtual public hearing scheduled on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Via Zoom (Zoom.us - Join meeting - Meeting ID 6114974473). In addition, comments may be made to assessors via telephone on Monday, February 7, 2022 between 1:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. by calling (817) 426-9921.
