ZOLL TECHNOLOGY FOR IMPROVING CPR QUALITY TO BE SHOWCASED AT AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND RESUSCITATION SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM
November 29 2018-CHELMSFORD, MASS.-ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that Jan Rader, Chief of the City of Huntington, W.V., Fire Department, who was thrust into the national spotlight with the release of the short documentary 'Heroin(e)' by Netflix, will deliver a keynote speech about America's opioid epidemic on May 7 during ZOLL SUMMIT 2019 at the Sheraton Downtown Denver.
Entitled 'Making Positive Change during America's Opioid Epidemic,' Rader will discuss how the small community of Huntington, dubbed 'the overdose capital of America,' chose to own the opioid problem and became a center for solutions.
Rader came to national prominence after the release of the Oscar-nominated film, which details how three women gave the city a fighting chance by saving countless lives and helping people struggling with substance-abuse disorders return to lead productive lives. (Click here to view the trailer https://www.netflix.com/title/80192445.) In April of 2018, she was named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world.
Radar is the first woman to achieve the rank of fire chief in West Virginia, and since then has been breaking down barriers for women who aspire to achieve leadership positions in the emergency medical field.
Additional keynotes speakers will be announced in early 2019.
