Tel Aviv, December 5, 2021 - The Board of Directors of TASE unanimously approved today the recommendation of the Nominating Committee, appointing Mr. Steinberg to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of TASE.
This past June, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TASE, Mr. Amnon Neubach, announced that he would be stepping down on August 1, 2021, and as of said date Mr. Steinberg was appointed as Interim Chairman.
Steinberg, born in 1965, has been serving as a director in TASE since July 2020. Steinberg has extensive experience as a director in both private and public companies. Since May 2012 to date, he has been serving as a director in Leumi Partners, the real investments arm of Bank Leumi Group; since 2018 to date he has been serving as Chairman of REE, a public company listed on NASDAQ; and he is currently finishing his term as a director in Paz Oil, a public company listed on TASE. Mr. Steinberg was also among the investors in Mobileye.
Mr. Steinberg has also held executive positions in the capital market - in the years 2006-2010 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Psagot Investment House Ltd. and other companies in Psagot Group on behalf of York Capital, after leading the acquisition of Psagot from Bank Leumi and Psagot's acquisitions strategy, including its sale to Apax. In the years 1999-2003 he also served as CEO of Ilanot Batucha Investment House Ltd. of the IDB Group (then owned by the Recanati Family).
The terms of employment of Mr. Steinberg will be agreed upon and duly approved at a later date.
The Board of Directors wished Mr. Steinberg a successful term in office and thanked the members of the Nominating Committee for conducting a professional and thorough process. Mr. Itzhak Halamish chaired the Committee, which included Meirav Ben Cnaan Heller, Bruria Gross Prushansky, Salah Saabneh and Yoav Chelouche. The Committee was assisted by the placement firm "Emda".
