U18 Women's African Championship Quarter-Final pairing set

ANTSIRABE (Madagascar) - All four pairing of the 2022 FIBA U18 Women's African Championship have been confirmed, following the completion of the Group Phase on Monday night.

All eight participating teams advanced to the knockout stages of the competition, which gets underway on Wednesday, August 10.

Reigning champions Egypt and Mali won their respective groups undefeated in three games each while Guinea remains as the only team yet to register a win after three games.

In Group A, Algeria recorded their first on Monday thanks to a 72-69 triumph over Uganda while Mali saw off hosts Madagascar 87-40.

In Group B, Egypt outlast Angola 67-50 in what was an evenly-matched game until Jana Elalfy returned to court after several minutes on the bench due to the foul trouble to neutralize Angola.

Meanwhile, Tanzania also recorded their first win in three games after beating Guinea 65-52.

The two groups standings finished as follows:

GROUP A:
Mali 3-0
Madagascar 1-2
Uganda 1-2
Algeria 1-2

GROUP B:
Egypt 3-0
Angola 2-1
Tanzania 1-2
Guinea 0-3
