The City of Nampa's Arts and Historic Preservation Commission, in partnership with the State Historic Preservation Office, is excited to host a neighborhood meeting on preserving historic homes, properties, and neighborhoods.
A guest speaker from the Idaho State Historical Society will present information on the National Register of Historic Places and the many benefits of having a Local Historic District in our community. Resources will also be provided to the public on how to maintain a historic home.
The City of Nampa seeks to discuss preserving historic neighborhoods such as the Old Nampa Neighborhood Historic District, Nampa's only residential neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. The Old Nampa Neighborhood Historic District is located near Downtown Nampa, south of 4th St. S between 11th Ave. S and 4th Ave. S. and is comprised of 243 homes built between 1910 and 1940. The neighborhood was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. As an important cultural resource, the City of Nampa is looking to gather input from the community on preserving the character of the neighborhood, and others like it, through design and development standards.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Central Elementary School Gymnasium located at 1415 5th St S. Nampa, ID 83651.
