Trumbull County: Construction update

Trumbull County (Thursday, April 18, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Trumbull County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.

US Route 422 & State Route 5 resurfacing, Champion, Southington & Warren Townships
NEW IMPACT- Beginning Monday, May 6, the following routes will have various lane restrictions:
  • US 422 from N; Leavitt Rd. to SR 305
  • SR 5 from just south of US 422 to W. Market St.
Estimated completion, September 2024.

State Routes 5, 82 & 304, guardrail repairs
The following routes have various lane restrictions for guardrail repairs:

  • SR 5 between SR 534 and SR 82
  • SR 82 between SR 5 and just east oof E. Market St.
  • SR 304 from just west of I-80 to the western Hubbard Corporation limit.

Estimated completion, late April.

State Route 5 bridge replacement in Vernon Township
NEW IMPACT- Beginning on Monday, April 29, SR 5 will be closed just north of Bushnell Campbell Rd. will be closed through late May. The detour will be SR 88 to SR 7.State Route 46 culvert replacement, Mecca Township
NEW IMPACT- SR 46 just south of SR 88 is NOW OPEN.State Routes 46 & 82 Diverging Diamond Interchange, Howland Township
CONTINUING IMPACT- The following restrictions and closures are in place through November 2024:
  • State Route 46 between Market St. and US 422 has various lane restrictions.
  • State Route 82 between Elm Rd. and Howland Wilson Rd. has various lane restrictions.
  • The ramp from E. Market St. to SR 82 is closedthrough November 2024. The detour is E. Market St. to SR 46 to SR 82.
Estimated completion, fall 2026.
