Katrece Boyd Named Executive Director of the Center of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development

Katrece Boyd has been appointed as the executive director of the Center of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) at North Carolina Central University (NCCU). She began this role on July 1, 2023. She reports directly to Anthony C. Nelson, Ph.D., the dean of the School of Business. In this role, she leads initiatives that drive innovation and economic mobility for students, faculty, staff and community members. Her responsibilities include spearheading strategic planning efforts for the center to ensure its growth, sustainability and impact within NCCU and the greater Durham community. 

Boyd is an International Coaching Federation (ICF)-credentialed coach and trained facilitator. Previously, she served as a general business counselor with the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), where she provided personalized management counseling and educational services to help entrepreneurs commercialize their innovations, enhance their capacity, improve operational efficiency and explore new markets. She is currently a member of Leadership Raleigh Cohort 47 with the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and actively involved in community initiatives dedicated to advancing the economic mobility of under-resourced communities, including NC IDEA's Black Entrepreneurship Council, Carolina Community Impact Inc.'s Advisory Board and Habitat for Humanity's Advocacy Committee. 

Boyd holds a bachelor's degree in sales and marketing from Tuskegee University and is a Master of Business Administration candidate at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
